Floor Plan
We've just finished setting up the floor plan. If you were at our 2000 event, this should look very familiar. Check it out.
Tournament and Venue update
Only 6 long months until K9CON2K6 is upon us! I have a few updates to share with all of you. First off, thanks for the pre-registration signups and for the tournament voting. This information has really helped us make some decisions regarding how we’re going to run this event.
Tournament News:
The votes are in! As a result of the interest in both tourneys, we’ve decided to do just that, have both a Q4 1v1 and a Q4 TDM tournament. I’m very pleased to formally introduce Richard “K9-Burn” Pavlicek as the Tournament Director for K9CON. Richard has a deep history of professional tournament experience both as a bridge player and as a professional gamer. His tournament experience coupled with his programming skills and analytical abilities should yield a great tournament system and experience for those participating.
Venue News:
Change of Venue! It looks doubtful that we’d fill the 220 seats we’d originally anticipated on, so it’s back to TechMart for another K9CON. This might actually be a good thing though. It’ll be a smaller (120 instead of 220 seats), more intimate and familiar affair. Plus, we have one more bit of exciting news to share. Since we are back in the TechMart, we’ve been able to secure the venue 24 hours a day. Meaning, once the doors open Saturday morning, the event will not stop day or night until Sunday evening. That’s right, bring your pillow and fall asleep on your keyboard Quakecon style!
Check out the Pre-Registration List
Here is the Pre-Registration List. We are allowing a maximum of 240 people, so reserve your spot today!
1v1 or TDM? Vote NOW!
K9CON has always been about the TDM. But, since Q4 hasn't reached it's full level of maturity, we're not sure if the game is ready for competitive TDM play. What do you guys think? Should we take a gamble on TDM and hope that it's at a playable state by mid 2006? Or, should we deviate from our past and go for a 1v1 tournament? Cast your vote now!
Pre-Registration is Live
It's been quite some time since the last K9CON. Since Q3 died down a few years ago, there hasn't been a solid game to play. With Quake4 out, we're hoping that's gonna change. Please take the time to pre-register if you plan on attending the event. The tentative date for the event is June 2-4th 2006. By pre-registering, two things are accomplished. For one, you have a locked in seat at the event. Two, it helps us better plan accommodations. Thanks!
